His passion for design transformed into two unique pieces created for IGP Chorizo ​​​​Riojano: a T-shirt with a small cord sewn near the chest and a scarf in the purest Hermès style with chorizo ​​imagery ​unique.

Meet Mercedes

Mercedes González de Garay is an artist of international trajectory and cultural manager who is currently dedicated to design among other projects.

From 2011 to 2016, De Garay works as the director of Al Riwaq Art Space in Bahrain, where she organizes numerous art installations, exhibitions, and residencies for artists and designers, developing various educational programs for creative and professional development.
In 2016 she founded Fosforito, a small local art and design platform, while developing her children's design brand The Vermutiter.

"We have sought to create modern pieces but that were current and fun. And of course, that could be worn by a young or an old lady. This is how we came up with a Hermès scarf and a hand-embroidered T-shirt."

She has participated in numerous international projects and exhibitions, including New York, Berlin, Istanbul, Florence, Cairo, Beijing and Lisbon.

De Garay holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Her work can be found in various institutions such as the Würth Museum Spain.

Closely linked to her homeland, she has always actively participated in the logroñesa art scene, has been vice president of the artistic association Casa de las Musas and has been part of the Lovisual festival and Women in Art in La Rioja.
