A soccer ball, a field full of friends, a good sandwich of the best Riojan chorizo and, above all, a lot of laughter. That was the result of the I World Recreational Soccer Championship, organized by IGP Chorizo Riojano at the La Estrella de Logroño soccer field on May 25, with the participation of four great veteran teams from the city of La Rioja.
In total, 60 players, 2 federated referees, more than 200 spectators and 150 snacks distributed with a single objective: to remember those memorable soccer games in the playground and... have fun like kids!
And one of the memories that linger in our memory even with the passing of the years is that feeling of pleasure and happiness when eating the chorizo sandwich in the schoolyard. Unwrapping it and gobbling it while chatting with your best friends is a memory that is part of the collective memory of many. A memory full of flavor and health, which is linked to the best of our Riojan gastronomy thanks to a product that crosses borders and decades.
Chorizo riojano PGI is synonymous with quality, flavor, tradition and health. It is 100% natural, without preservatives, an authentic and iconic product, directly linked to our gastronomy. And that is why it was a must in our seven-a-side soccer championship. Between goals, 150 chorizo sandwiches made on the spot and drinks (water, juices and non-alcoholic beer) were handed out before, during and after the event.
In addition, the participants have been given 60 screen-printed full kits, as well as medals and trophies.
A unique way to remember the sensations we had when we were children, and the perfect occasion to taste the best chorizo in the world: IGP Chorizo Riojano.
