The PGI Chorizo Riojano has a 100% Riojan philosophy, since all its production processes and products are developed in our community and have audited controls of the production, maturation and labeling processes.
But also in their eagerness to generate a regional brand, they have decided to generate synergies with different regional artists such as Marta Berra or The Vermutiter, culinary collaborations with the restaurant La Chispa Adecuada or gastronomic contests with the students of the School of Hotel Management and Tourism of La Rioja.
This time the initiative is solidarity and they have the knowledge and experience of the EHOJA teachers so that all those attending the MUWI festival in Logroño can taste their “bravas y solidarias”. As Professor David Sotes explains, “we have looked for a simple way for everyone to enjoy our Riojan potatoes with our Riojan chorizo sausage. Two foods that go perfectly together and with a spicy touch, as could not be otherwise”.
The ration will be priced at three euros and the profits will go to the Cocina Económica de Logroño. Those who want to taste them will be able to do so on Friday and Saturday of the festival between 21:00 and 00:00h, and on Sunday from 12:00h to 15:00h in the restaurant area.
“Once again, the IGP Chorizo Riojano shows with us its most altruistic side by contributing to our institution an economic aid that as always will be very well received” comments Javier Porres, managing director of the Cocina Económica de Logroño.
For his part, Alejandro Miguel, president of the IGP Chorizo Riojano, values positively this type of initiatives and invites all the assistants to taste the gastronomic creation on August 26th, 27th and 28th.
