Chorizo Riojano made under the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) is one of the most representative products of the meat industry of La Rioja, due, among other things, to the fact that it is a product of great tradition and that, in spite of presenting a certain heterogeneity due to its artisan production has a unique sensory profile and is totally differentiated, both in composition and sensorially, from the rest of the chorizos produced in Spain.
And to prove it, we have launched a challenge, “the IGP Riojan chorizo challenge” in which several people chosen at random have blindfolded (blindfolded) tasted the IGP Riojan chorizo against another chorizo from another quality brand.
We have captured the consumer's opinion, and what happened?
That Chorizo Riojano IGP was the winner of the challenge because 100% of consumers preferred it.
Why? because it has a mild and appetizing smell, a pleasant and balanced flavor, it is very easy to chew, and in the mouth it is very juicy and succulent, very distinct sensory qualities, since the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Chorizo Riojano elaborates the product according to strict quality controls, which gives it that flavor so linked to the land, to the traditional good work and to the flavors of the origin.
