The history of La Rioja is one of tradition, effort, flavor and unity among its people. The universal products recognized by the Protected Designation of Origin, such as as La Rioja chorizo, are just one example, and a more than welcome attraction for the thousands of tourists who visit the region every year.

Unsurprisingly, last year, destinations in the north and interior of Spain received the most tourists compared to other regions more dependent on foreign tourists, and a similar trend is expected this year. According to forecasts by Exceltur, the sector's employers' association, Green Spain and inland destinations will be the protagonists of the tourist reactivation from July to September.

In regions such as La Rioja, gastronomy is one of the main reasons for attracting new visitors. Rioja chorizo is just one example. A product that retains its connection with the land from which it comes, and is carefully crafted using a traditional process that gives it a unique flavor.

The Protected geographical indication PGI chorizo riojano guarantees the highest standards at every stage of the process.

The result is a product that is appreciated the world over and contributes to economic and social development. Because the story of La Rioja is the story of a community that has always known how to make the most of the land.
